You'll find the Enterprise Rent-a-Car branch at Kiosk 6 of the airport's Car Rental Terminal. You can't miss it as you're leaving the airport.
With car hire in King Shaka International Airport DUR, it's easy to get to Durban. The airport is located north of the city, along the coast. It's just over 34 km from the city centre. In normal traffic conditions, it takes about 40 minutes to drive into the Durban CBD.
The easiest way to get to Durban from the airport is by following the M4. However, it's important to keep in mind that this is a toll road. You can pay the toll using either cash or a card. If you're travelling to Mpumalanga or Pietermaritzburg, you'll need to go through Durban first.
Another toll road, the N2, will lead you north from the airport to the holiday area known as the Dolphin Coast. It takes about half an hour to reach this popular seaside resort zone.
Car or van hire in King Shaka International Airport DUR is a fantastic idea if you're looking for a coastal holiday. The airport's main purpose is to provide transport to the city of Durban, known for its laid-back beach charm. However, you can also fly into King Shaka Airport if you're going to Mpumalanga or the small holiday towns of the Dolphin Coast.
The nearby inland city of Pietermaritzburg has its own airport, but it's far smaller. Many people find it easier to fly into King Shaka International and drive. The distance to Pietermaritzburg is just over 100 km from the airport.
All additional drivers must meet all renter requirements. All additional drivers must appear at the rental counter with the primary renter. Additional drivers can be added at any rental location and at any time during the rental. An additional driver fee of 400 ZAR (excl. VAT) per rental applies. Additional drivers are not permitted for rentals that include cross-border travel.
This rental location offers pick-up outside the opening hours. To arrange a pick-up outside the opening hours customers are required to email the branch at reservations@woodford.co.za. Customers must provide their contact number, flight number, and arrival time. No additional charges apply for pick-ups outside the opening hours
Vehicles can be returned outside the opening hours of this rental location. Please park the vehicle in a safe and secure parking space on the airport property only. Make sure the vehicle is locked and ensure you have gathered all personal belongings before leaving. Place the keys in the dropbox which is located ... (describe the location of dropbox). The renter’s responsibility for the vehicle and rental charges end once an employee inspects the vehicle the next business day. No additional charges apply for returns outside the opening hours.
The minimum age requirement to drive all vehicles is 23. The maximum age to rent is 85. A young driver fee of 200 ZAR per day applies for all renters aged between 21 and 22. Renters aged between 21 and 22 may rent the categories Mini, Economy, Compact and Intermediate.
Outside South Africa, vehicles can be driven in Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini only. A cross-border fee of 2,500 ZAR per border will apply to all authorised countries and territories. In all cases, customers must inform the rental branch of their intention to leave the country with the vehicle and acquire written authorisation. Customers are required to inform the rental branch about any cross-border travel at least 72 hours in advance. All unauthorised cross-border travel will result in a breach of contract.
This location offers a collection and delivery service available to corporate customers only. Vehicles can be delivered and collected during the location's business hours. No charge applies within a 30 km radius of the rental location. A fixed fee of 750 ZAR applies within a 75 km radius of the rental location. Vehicles can also be delivered and collected outside the location's business hours. Outside the opening hours, a fixed fee of 1250 ZAR applies within a 75 km radius of the rental location. An additional mileage charge of 11 ZAR per kilometre applies outside a 75 km radius of the rental location. To arrange a delivery or collection, customers are required to email the branch at woodford@woodford.co.za.
All rentals where the vehicle is not returned to the same location as it was collected from will be subject to a one-way fee. The one-way fee varies based on car category, location and pick-up date. The exact amount of the one-way fee will be displayed during the reservation process when entering the dates, desired route and car category.
We Refill
This option allows the renter to pay at the end of the rental for fuel used but not replaced. The price per litre will be higher than local fuel prices. A 20% surcharge will apply.
Pre-pay fuel
This option allows the renter to pay for the full tank of fuel at the time of rental and return the tank empty. No refunds will be issued for unused fuel. Pre-paid fuel is available at 5% less than the local fuel prices.
Customer refills
This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with the same level of fuel as received to avoid extra fuel charges.
All major credit cards, issued by either Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Diners Club, are accepted. All cards presented must be in the renter's name. Pre-paid cards, cash and cheques are not accepted. A security deposit plus the estimated cost of the rental will be taken at the time of rental. Deposit amounts for each car class are included below:
5,000 ZAR – Mini, Economy, Economy SUV, Compact, Intermediate and Standard
8,000 ZAR – Compact SUV, Intermediate SUV, Standard SUV, Intermediate People Carrier, Standard Pick-up
15,000 ZAR – Full Size, Full Size SUV, Full Size Pickup, Premium, Premium SUV, Premium Pickup, Intermediate Cargo Van, Standard Cargo Van
25,000 ZAR – Full Size People Carrier, Premium People Carrier
35,000 ZAR – Luxury, Luxury People Carrier
50,000 ZAR – Luxury SUV, Full Size Cargo Van, Standard Elite People Carrier
Roadside Protection (RAP) is an optional 24-hour emergency service including all recovery and call-out charges required due to a fault caused by the renter or road hazards.
RAP does not cover any vehicle repairs and does not apply if there is a breach of the rental agreement or if the wrong fuel type is used. Before purchasing RAP, it is advisable to determine if the renter's personal coverage is adequate to cover these charges. If RAP is declined, the renter will be required to pay any applicable charges and to seek compensation from their carrier of their personal coverage. RAP is not insurance.
All drivers must present a full valid driving licence. All drivers must have held their licence for at least 3 years. In addition, all renters must provide a valid government-issued photo ID such as a passport or ID card. A valid credit card in the renter's name must be presented upon collection of the vehicle. If the driving licence is written in a language and characters different from those of the country of rental, an International Driving Permit is also required. Renters are advised to check whether local authorities require foreign drivers to present an International Driving Permit to avoid the risk of potential fines. Renters with licences from countries that are not part of the International Driving Permit Agreement should carry a certified translation. Customers wishing to rent a Premium or Luxury vehicle will also need to provide local proof of residence or a round-trip travel itinerary at the time of pick-up.
Third-Party Liability Coverage (SLP) is an optional coverage that reduces the applicable excess amount to zero for all car classes in case of damage to and/or theft of the vehicle caused by a third party who does not have sufficient coverage or insurance. If SLP is not included in the reservation, it is available for purchase.
Before purchasing SLP, it is advisable to determine if the renter's personal coverage is adequate to cover damage, theft, loss of revenue, administration fees, diminishment of value, and any towing, storage or impound fees. If SLP is declined, the renter will be required to pay these charges up to the excess amount and seek compensation through their carrier of personal coverage. SLP is not insurance.
