Rental Policies

All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements. All additional drivers must appear at the rental counter, present their driving licence and sign the rental agreement. Additional drivers can only be added to the contract at the start of the rental at the pick-up location. An additional driver fee of 25.00 SAR per day applies for each additional driver.

The minimum age requirement to hire all vehicles is 25 years old. The maximum age to hire is 69 years old. Hirers between the ages of 18 and 24 years old may hire the following categories: Mini, Economy, Compact, Intermediate Sedan, Small SUV, Economy SUV, Intermediate SUV. No additional fees apply to young drivers.

Vehicles can be driven in GCC countries and are only permitted for Saudi citizens and GCC nationals. Ferry crossings with the vehicles are not permitted. A cross-border fee of SAR 75 plus VAT per rental applies. In all cases, customers must inform the rental branch of their intention to leave the country with the vehicle and will require an authorisation. Customers are required to inform the rental branch about any cross-border travel at least three hours in advance. Unauthorised cross-border travel will result in a breach of contract and incur a penalty charge of SAR 5000.

All rentals where the vehicle is not returned to the same location as it was collected from will be subject to a one-way fee. The one-way fee varies based on car category, location and pick-up date. The exact amount of the one-way fee will be displayed during the reservation process when entering the dates, desired route and car category.

Damage Waiver with Theft Protection (DWTP) reduces the excess in the event of damage or theft of the vehicle when no responsible third party is identified.  DWTP is mandatory by law and included in the reservation.  All car categories have an excess of 2000 SAR except the following where the excess is different: 3000 SAR: Intermediate SUV, Standard Van, Standard SUV, Full Size Sedan, Full Size SUV; 4000 SAR: Premium and Premium SUV, Luxury Sedan. The excess will be charged every time a vehicle is damaged, lost or stolen. Customers are required to provide an official police report (in case of damage) or an official police report and the original car key (provided at the time of hire) in case of theft.  Failure to provide an official police report (with the original car key in case of theft) voids the DWTP and customer is liable for the full amount of damage caused or the value of the vehicle in case of theft.  DWTP does not cover damages to tyres, windshields or the underbody of the vehicle during the hire unless it is part of an accident with an official police report.  DWTP does not cover damages where no third party is involved. DWTP is not insurance.

The fuel policy will be full to full. If the vehicle is not returned with a full tank, the customer will be charged for the fuel difference based on local fuel prices plus refuelling fees. Refuelling fees will be calculated as follows: If a customer returns the vehicle with a quarter of a tank or less (0–25%), the refuelling fee will be SAR 50 plus tax. If a customer returns the vehicle with half a tank (50%), the refuelling fee will be SAR 40 plus tax, and if a customer returns the vehicle with three quarters of a tank (75%–100%), the customer will be charged SAR 20 plus tax.

The rental period of existing contracts cannot be extended. If the customer desires to extend their rental, they must create a new booking and visit the branch to close their current contract and execute the new booking. When extending the rental period within the same booking, any additional days will be calculated based on the local rates. A refund will not be issued for returning the car early.

The accepted payment types for the rental amount are cash, debit cards and credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard and AMEX, while security deposits can only be made using credit cards.

Driving licences must be valid for a minimum of six months from the date of vehicle return (rental agreement period). Digital driving licences are only accepted for Saudi citizens and residents. Holders of the international driving licence are required to show their passport and tourist visa at the time of rental as an additional form of ID. Customers with an international driving licence are allowed to rent the vehicle for the first 90 days following their arrival to the country. If they wish to continue the rental, they should inform the rental branch after they get their Saudi licence and residency card. Visitors holding Umrah/Hajj visas are not allowed to rent and holders of multiple/single exit re-entry visas are also not allowed to rent a car.
