This is done on national road 79, a main road in the Lapland region that connects Rovaniemi in the south with Muonio in the north via Kittila. It is a well-paved two-lane road that also connects with national road 80 at Kittila.
Kittila Airport is a small airport with regular connections to Helsinki throughout the year. It sees some 363,161 passengers per year and is the fourth-busiest in Finland. The bulk of this traffic takes place in winter when the airport provides seasonal tourist links throughout Europe for visitors coming to and from Lapland. These include flights to Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Glasgow, London, Munich, Paris, Riga and Vienna, among others.
Kittila Airport is the main and only airport serving Kittila and its surrounding region. As such, it is one of Lapland's busiest airports after Rovaniemi. Aside from serving Kittila, the airport also provides vital links for Kaukonen, Kongas and Tepasto, picturesque villages with ample outdoor hikes and activities. It is also popular to pick up a car hire in Kittila Airport when travelling to Sirkka, renowned for its ski resorts and winter sports.

Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection (CDWTP) reduces the liability of the renter in the event of damage to the bodywork, theft or attempted theft of the rental vehicle. If CDWTP is not included in the reservation, the renter has liability for up to the full market value of the vehicle. If not included in the reservation, CDWTP is an optional coverage available for purchase. CDWTP does not cover damage to the tyres or windscreen of the vehicle. You must adhere to all rental terms and conditions to receive the benefits of CDWTP.
If included in the reservation, the excess amount ranges between 2,000 EUR and 4,000 EUR depending on car class. Excess will be charged every time that a vehicle is damaged.
Before purchasing CDW, it is advisable to determine if the renter's personal coverage is adequate to cover damage, theft, loss of revenue, administration fees, diminishment of value, and any towing, storage or impound fees. If CDW is declined, the renter will be required to pay these charges and to seek compensation through their carrier of personal coverage. The Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not insurance.
Excess Protection (EP) is an optional coverage available to the renter. EP is only available for purchase if Collison Damage Waiver and Theft Protection (CDWTP) is selected or included in the reservation. EP does not cover damage to the tyres or windscreen of the vehicle. You must adhere to all rental terms and conditions to receive the benefits of EP.
Before purchasing EP, it is advisable to determine if the renter's personal coverage is adequate to cover damage, theft, loss of revenue, administration fees, diminishment of value, and any towing, storage or impound fees.
