Is a car hire deposit required in the United Kingdom?
Yes. All customers will be required to pay a car hire deposit. Total cost is based on the size of the vehicle you are going to hire, how long the car hire reservation is, and any additional (optional) items added to your car hire reservation. You will be required to provide the cost of the car hire and an additional deposit hold amount over the actual cost of the car hire.
The estimated cost of the car hire plus a deposit of 200 GBP-1000 GBP ($250-$1300 USD) (determined by the size of the vehicle) will be taken by credit or debit card at the time of car hire. The credit or debit card must be in the name of the renter.
